FOOD SAFETY COURSES
With so many food safety courses out there, it’s hard to know which one you need! We have broken down our food safety offerings into general categories below to help guide you to the one the best suits your needs. However, it’s always best to contact your local food authority, workplace, or sector association to confirm which unit(s) you need for your specific situation as the legal requirements change from sector to sector and state to state.
When enrolling into your chosen food safety course, pay attention to the state that your course is valid in. For example, if you are in NSW, there are specific courses for you to complete that are approved by the NSW Food Authority. If you are in NSW and you do not complete NSW-specific training, your certificate will not be valid in your state.
FOOD SAFETY TRAINING - RETAIL
The below courses are specific to those working in food retail businesses that prepare and sell food to customers for consumption elsewhere. This unit is a mandatory requirement for all food handlers in businesses such as grocery stores, supermarkets, and fast-food outlets. The unit code for these courses is SIRRFSA001.
