The National Child Safe Standards (also referred to as the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the National Standards for Child Safe Organisations) aim to provide a nationally consistent approach to creating organisational cultures that foster child safety and wellbeing. These standards (or principles) collectively show that a child safe organisation is one that creates a culture, adopts strategies and takes action to promote child wellbeing and prevent harm to children and young people. They are intended to guide what organisations need to do to be child safe by setting best practice to drive and guide performance.
The purpose of this course was to create a helpful resource that pulls together information in one place from across many different sources to assist organisations to make sense of the seemlingly complex task of implementing the Child Safe Standards in a meaningful way and to learn how to demonstrate compliance to these Standards when required.
