This subject covers managing a range of meetings including overseeing the meeting preparation processes, chairing meetings, organising the minutes and reporting meeting outcomes.
BSBWOR501 Manage personal work priorities and professional development
This subject provides time management strategies and planning, techniques for setting goals and targets and the importance of them being linked to key performance indicators of the business.
BSBLDR502 Lead and manage effective workplace relationships
This subject covers leading and managing effective workplace relationships.
BSBWOR502 Lead and manage team effectiveness
This subject covers the skills required to lead teams in the workplace and to actively engage with the management of the organisation.
BSBLDR511 Develop and use emotional intelligence
This unit covers the development and use of emotional intelligence to increase self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management in the context of the workplace.
BSBHRM405 Support the recruitment, selection and induction of staff
The recruitment and selection process addresses filling vacancies, job descriptions and person specifications, advertising, short-listing, interviewing and post-interview details.
BSBMGT502 Manage people performance
This subject covers strategies for assigning and allocating work and establishing clear role responsibilities. It provides an opportunity to look into standards of conduct and ethics and how to successfully monitor performance and use counselling methods for improving performance.
BSBPMG522 Undertake project work
This subject looks at developing plans, monitoring and reviewing quality and risk in relation to a project. This is a practical subject that will develop knowledge and skills in the area of team management and planning control and reviews.
BSBCUS501 Manage quality customer service
Customer service management involves defining, delivering, monitoring and measuring quality customer service. Key topics address how to identify the customer’s needs and design systems and strategies for delivering the needed levels of service.
BSBMGT517 Manage operational plan
This subject covers the development and implementation of the operational plan to provide efficient and effective workplace practices within the organisation’s productivity and profitability plans.
BSBRSK501 Manage Risk
This subject covers the skills and knowledge required to manage risks in a range of contexts across an organisation or for a specific business unit or area in any industry setting.
BSBMGT516 Facilitate continuous improvement
This covers the skills and knowledge required to lead and manage continuous improvement systems and processes. Particular emphasis is on the development of systems and the analysis of information to monitor and adjust performance strategies and to manage opportunities for further improvements.

There are NO exams!!! The assessment consists of short answer questions, assignments and written reports.
How you will be assessed
For each unit of competency, a number of assessment activities have been used, each of which are described in more detail on this page.
Assignment Activities
Assignment activities consist of both written and multiple choice questions. Written answers should be a maximum of 100-300 words (1-2 paragraphs). The assignment activities are a mixture of knowledge questions and case studies. Case studies require you to apply knowledge to real situations.
Work based projects
Work based projects involve a practical demonstration of skills and knowledge. These projects comprise real learning in the course and require you to apply your newly acquired knowledge.
These projects do not need to be completed in your workplace, you may use a simulated environment. You are required to video a number of the work based project using a simulated environment. Two examples are listed below.
You are required to conduct two (2) meetings.
Meeting 1 – Chair a formal Board Meeting
Meeting 2 – Facilitate a Problem Solving Meeting
For each meeting, you are required to submit a video recording of the meeting as well as supporting documentation. The supporting documentation required to be submitted is clearly detailed in each question, and includes the agenda, the notification of the meeting, etc. You are required to answer a number of short answer questions for each meeting.
You will need yourself plus 3 people. You can use the same 3 people for both meetings.
You are required to conduct a simulated job interview.
For the interview you are required to submit a video recording of the interview as well as supporting documentation. The supporting documentation required to be submitted is clearly detailed in each question, and includes the agenda, the notification of the meeting, etc.
You will need yourself plus 1 other person.

Assessment Submission
All assessment is be submitted via our online learning management system. No assessment will be accepted via email, post or any other method. – it will be returned to you.
Our Diploma of Leadership and Management is delivered via our custom built learning management system. You will access your study materials and assessments from the internet.
Our course is self paced so you can manage your studies around your work and personal life. There is no set timetable. Study when you want, where you want and at your own pace.
Please this information very carefully. There is no refund after the 5 day cooling off period if you cannot meet the technology requirements or the video assessment requirements.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, you will need the following.
Technology Requirements
Computer – A desktop computer or laptop with (but not limited to) Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7, 8 or higher
Broadband Internet access – All assessment is to be submitted using our Learning Management System. You need to be connected to the internet to save and submit assessments in our learning management system. Assessments are NOT accepted by email, post, fax or any other method. Any assessments received this way will be returned.
Microsoft word – All the templates provided are in word and are required to be completed in word.
Video recording device – You are required to record a video of yourself for a number of assessments. You can use a video recorder, smart phone or computer. Refer to how you will be assessed for more information.
Win Zip – due to space restrictions, video files are to be zipped for submission. Most computers have Win Zip installed. If you do not have Win Zip, it is available from download from the internet.
Reading and Writing Skills
The Diploma of Leadership and Management is an on-line, self-paced course. It requires strong English reading and writing skills.
You must be able to read, write and interpret documents as you are required to complete assessment tasks such as short/long answer questions and write more complex documents such as essays.
Numeracy Skills
Numeracy skills are required to a basic level e.g. calculations with calculators.
We offer two (2) payment options to get you learning.
Option 1 – $990 – one upfront payment.

REFUNDS
We give you a five (5) day cooling off period, during which time you may review the first subject and decide if the course is for you. After the cooling off period, there is NO refund. Please ensure you read the requirements for this course. There is no refund (after the cooling off period) if you cannot meet the technology requirements.
Option 1
You may cancel your enrolment at any time within five (5) days of receiving your first subject for a full refund of fees. Cancellation must be made in writing. You must not have submitted any assessments.
No refunds are given after five (5) days. No exceptions.
Option 2 – Direct Debit Payment Plan
Direct debit facility is operated by Debit Success. Payments are to be made weekly from bank account, debit or credit card.
When we receive notification of your returned Direct Debit form from Debit Success we will enrol you in our learning management system within one (1) business day.
You may cancel your enrolment at any time within five (5) days for a full refund of any fees paid. Cancellation must be made in writing. You must not have submitted any assessments to your trainer.
After 5 days no refunds will be given, and all course fees will have to be paid as per the payment arrangement. No exceptions.
We give you five (5) days, from when we enrol you in the course, to change your mind and receive a full refund of any course fees paid.
You may review the first subject for 5 days. If you wish to cancel your enrolment during this period, you can with no penalty. You must NOT have submitted any assessment for marking.
After the 5 day cooling off period, there are NO refunds. Please ensure you read the requirements for this course. There is no refund (after the cooling off period) if you cannot meet the technology requirements or the video assessment requirements.
You must notify us in writing within 5 days of us enrolling you in the course to be eligible.

How our system works
Each unit builds on previous units. You are required to complete the units in the order set by us.
You will be enrolled in all units of the qualification. The first unit is unlocked ready to complete. The remaining units are locked. When you submit an assessment, the next unit will be unlocked ready to complete. You cannot jump from unit to unit. This ensures units are completed in the required order and you are always working off the latest version of the subject.
Your enrolment is valid for 12 months from the date you are enrolled. If you do not complete your qualification in this time, you will be required to apply to us for an extension. Additional fees apply if you do not complete within 12 months.

2. If you are paying the upfront payment, we will send you a tax invoice within one (1) business day of receiving your enrolment form. If you are paying by direct debit we will send you the link to fill in the direct debit form.
3. You pay the tax invoice (note: you are not considered enrolled until you have paid your invoice), or return the direct debit form.
4. Within one (1) business day of receipt of payment we will send log in details to our learning management system.

How long will it take to complete?
This course is a self paced course which means you can work as fast or as slow as you like. We recommend you allocate 10-12 hours study a week.
If you do not complete the course within the allotted time frame, you may ask your trainer for an extension. All extensions are granted at management’s discretion and will incur an additional fee.
Why should I study by e-learning or distance learning?
Studying for a qualification by distance learning means you can study at a pace that suits you, not at the pace of the slowest learner as often occurs in the classroom. Enrolment is available all year round, so you decide when to start the course. As a distance education student, you can also look forward to comprehensive support to help you in your studies.
