BEER KNOWLEDGE - $29
Do you know the difference between and ale and a lager? Do you know what style of beer to serve with oysters? This course provides valuable information about beer styles, food matching, and the brewing process.
This course has been designed for someone who has little or no knowledge of beer but would like to learn more.
In this course, you will learn about:
- The history of beer
- The brewing process
- Elements of beer styles
- The difference between an ale and lager
- How to taste beer
- How to serve beer
- Beer and food matching
- How to sell a beer
This is a non-accredited course but you will receive a completion certificate.
COURSE INFORMATION
- It takes 3 minutes to enrol.
- The course takes 2-4 hours to complete depending on your existing knowledge. No need to finish the course in one session! Log in and out as many times as you like, the system remembers where you are up to.
- From the date and time of purchase, you have 4 weeks to complete your training. At the end of the 4 week enrolment period, your course will expire, and will no longer be accessible.
- Please note there are no refunds if you do not complete your course within this timeframe; however, you can purchase a 14-day extension to extend access to the course which will provide additional time to complete the training. This option is available for 90 days from the original date of expiry.
Click “Start Course Now” button, enter your details, and proceed to the payment page and pay. After payment, you are given immediate access to your “My Training”. Simply click on the name of the course when you are ready to start. No need to wait for an email with log in details!
The course is broken into sections. At the end of each section is an assessment. Please read “How Will I be Assessed” for more details on assessment.
Whether you’re working in a brewery, bar, restaurant, or any other establishment that serves beer, it’s always a good idea to ensure you have good foundational knowledge surrounding beer. This is a great course for anyone needing to brush up on beer knowledge.
The course is broken down into sections. At the end of each section is an assessment. You are required to answer all questions in all sections correctly in order to pass the course and receive a completion certificate.

3. Click Submit
4. Move onto the next question
5. At the end of the questions, you will receive the result of your assessment
If you answer all questions correctly, you will progress to the next section. If you answer any questions incorrectly, you will be given feedback on which question you answered incorrectly. You will then be returned to the beginning of the learning materials for the section to review and attempt the assessment again. You can review the learning materials during the assessment.
